
David Shaw Mackenzie is from Easter Ross in the Highlands of Scotland. His several careers have included social work, teaching, systems analysis, painting and decorating and fish packing. These activities have led him to various parts of the Middle East, Latin America, mainland Europe and the Island of Mull on the west coast of Scotland. He now lives in London with his wife, Rachel.
His short fiction has appeared in several major literary magazines and anthologies including several editions of the annual Best Short Stories. His first novel, The Truth of Stone, was short-listed for the Saltire Society First Book Award. Two more novels have been published: The Interpretations and The Last Wolf.
