Motion by Roberts: Roberts notes that after some communication with other micropublishers and small-scale literary journals over this past week, it seems plagiarism has been on the rise—particularly with AI being used to change small sections of works to resubmit (eg. turning a poem about an asian-american household into an african-american household). While he haven’t seen any issues with Nat 1’s works—either accepting plagiarized content or having works published by Nat 1 stolen—he is making the motion to halt editing and publishing for one to two months so he can go through the house’s accepted submissions to make sure we have nothing by any known aliases that CLMP members have been noting and to go through our back catalog to ensure there’s there’s nothing online that was obviously taken from our works. All present voted to accept the motion.

Motion by Roberts: Because the Audience Askew Chapbooks have been generating very little revenue, despite the books being well-advertised, Roberts made the motion to change the formula of accepting and publishing future chapbooks. The current formula is to release a chapbook every month when there isn’t an issue of AALJ, however Roberts proposes to handle them more like the Nat 1 novels, and lump them together with Nat 1 submission calls, and acceptences are put onto the calendar as they are acquired. He hopes this will relieve the pressure of finding ‘the best fit that we can find’ from the slush pile every month due to it being ‘required,’ will allow us to only pick what we believe has the most potential for sales, and will speed up Nat 1’s response time to the authors who submit to us. All present voted to accept the motion.

Meeting Adjourned: The next Board meeting is scheduled for the week of November 17-21, 2025.
