Gail E. Eisenhart is a retired Executive Assistant and former Board member of the St. Louis Poetry Center. Her more serious poems have been published in Rattle, The Sucarnochee Review, Presence, Adanna Journal, and several anthologies. Her late father, Joe Eisenhart, entertained a generation of children with his tales of a silly bird he created when one of his grandchildren asked about the feather in his favorite hat. “Gus” sprung from his imagination and was written down so that we will never forget “The Gufflebird” he created.
